Below is a step-by-step guide to our professional stucco application for both residential and commercial projects.
1. Initial Consultation & Planning
Before starting any work, we schedule a consultation to:
Assess the building’s exterior.
Discuss texture and color preferences.

2. Surface Preparation
Proper preparation is key to long-lasting stucco:
Thorough wall cleaning using pressure washers or brushes to remove dirt, paint, or old stucco.
Patching cracks or holes with cement-based fillers for a smooth foundation.
Installing high-quality water-resistant paper or house wrap to prevent moisture damage.
Securing a metal lath or wire mesh to create a strong base for stucco adhesion.

3. Inspection (If Required)
If permits are required, we coordinate with local inspectors to:
Ensure the moisture barrier and lath are correctly installed.

4. Scratch Coat Application

Horizontal grooves are scored into the surface for better adhesion of the next layers.
The scratch coat cures for at least 48 hours under optimal weather conditions.
5. Brown Coat Application
The brown coat smooths out imperfections and strengthens the surface:
A slightly thinner mixture of cement and sand is applied at about inch thickness.
Straight edges and floats ensure even application.
The coat cures for 48 - 72 hours, with occasional mist-spraying to prevent premature drying and cracking.
6. Finish Coat Application
The final coat defines the texture and color of your stucco:
Choose from smooth, rough, swirl, or knockdown textures.
We apply traditional cement-based stucco or modern acrylic-based stucco.
Fiberglass mesh may be added for crack resistance in smooth finishes.
Color pigments can be mixed into the stucco, eliminating the need for painting.

7. Curing Process
Stucco requires proper curing after application:
The finish coat is allowed to cure naturally.

8. Painting (Optional)
For clients preferring painted stucco:
We recommend waiting at least 30 days before painting for proper curing.

Full property clean-up, including removal of leftover materials.
